At least it was really pretty.
This car almost killed Porsche. Good thing they didn't kill off the 911 and attempt to replace its sales with the 928, as originally planned.

I think the 928 is one of the coolest cars ever made, period. It debuted in 1977 and still looks modern today. I'd take a pristine one over a dozen 911s anyday

FYI - I didn't mean to infer that it was ugly. Was just saying that the 507 was very pretty.
I kind of like how the 928 looks too. I don't like it more than a 911, it's just different. If I had unlimited garage space and funds I would want to have a 911 from every decade and a 928 GTS.
I read that Porsche's initial plan was the replace the 911 with the 928. That would have been a disaster because the 928 never had the same sales success as the 911.
I hope Porsche comes out with a 928 successor soon.
